The teenage Star abandons his dysfunctional family and joins a caravan of rampaging teenagers, who travel the American Midwest selling magazine subscriptions door-to-door. The young girl immediately finds herself at ease with her new companions and soon adopts their lifestyle made up of alcoholic evenings, petty crimes and love stories.
